This guide walks you through scoring your first game using the Darts Atlas scoring tool, from setup to checkout, both 501 & cricket game formats. #501

Starting a Match

Load your match in the Darts Atlas kiosk. Before the start of the match, you’ll see both players’ names displayed - in practice mode, this shows as “Player 1” and “Player 2”. In tournament play, actual player names will appear instead, but the interface remains the same.

Press the green “Start The Match” button to begin.

Selecting the First Thrower

You’ll be prompted to choose which player throws first. Tap that player’s name to select them.

If you select the wrong player, simply tap the correct player’s name to fix it.

The order of throw will now alternate, with the player throwing first, having the throw in all odd-numbered legs (1,3,5…). This can be overwritten by tapping the other player’s name before the leg starts.

Entering Scores

Once the match starts, you can begin entering scores.

Basic scoring:

  1. Enter the score using the keypad
  2. Press “Enter” to confirm
  3. The system automatically deducts the score from the remaining total

For example, if Player 1 scores 180, enter “180” and press “Enter”. The display updates to show 321 remaining (501 - 180).

Correcting Mistakes

Made an error? The correction process is straightforward:

  1. Tap the incorrect score entry
  2. The score highlights yellow to indicate amendment mode
  3. Enter the correct score
  4. Press “Enter” again

For instance, if you accidentally enter “10” instead of “100”, tap the “10”, enter “100”, and confirm. The system recalculates the remaining score automatically.

Using the Assist Function

If you need help calculating a score, use the Assist button. This displays numbers 1-20, plus 25 and 50.

Tap each dart score individually, and Darts Atlas totals them for you.

Example: For a visit of treble 12, s20, and double 14:

  • Tap “12” three times (36)
  • Tap “20” once (20)
  • Tap “14” twice (28)
  • Total: 84 (auto calculated)
  • Press “Enter” to confirm

Checkout Procedure

When a player finishes their remaining score:

  1. Enter the checkout score (e.g., 141)
  2. Press “Enter”
  3. Select how many darts were used: 1, 2, or 3

Once you confirm the dart count, the leg is complete.

Continuing Play

In multi-leg matches or tournaments, the next leg starts automatically. The match continues using the same scoring process until completion.

Scoreboard Issues

Refresh your browser window if you encounter any problems or if you’re uncertain whether your last input registered.

When in doubt, refresh.

That’s everything you need to score a match on Darts Atlas. The system handles the mathematics—you simply enter the scores and let it do the rest.

Cricket

Starting a Match

Entering Marks

The marking system is straightforward:

  • Tap the target number (or B for bull) to enter a single mark
  • Tap “D” for a double (two marks)
  • Tap “T” for a triple (three marks)

Use the “Clear” button to reset all marks for the current turn.

Press “Ent” to submit your turn, even if no marks were scored.

Correcting Scores

Tap “Menu”, then select “Undo Last Throw” to delete the previously recorded turn.

Scores must be deleted in sequence. If you need to correct a score from two throws ago, you’ll need to delete the last two scores, then re-enter them both.

Undoing a Game Shot

If you accidentally enter a game shot, you can undo it—provided it wasn’t the winning leg of the match.

Tap “Menu”, then “Undo Last Throw” to reopen the previous leg and remove the game shot.

A match-winning visit cannot be undone.
